What does testorone do

Over the last year my wife and had all kinds of relationships problems. Know that I look back I think they all started when my sex drive Deminished, I had low testorone level and also have a rare autoamune diese wich the doctors have me all kinds of differnt medications. So I really had no sex drive and started to push my wife away. My problem then was I wouldn’t stay hard til I finished. It would start to get limp. Now that we’re getting alone and making love more often than twice a month, I had time even getting an erection. Let along maintaining it. My wife like giving massages, and oral sex but, but I also think all the videos could help us be more open and learn new things that could help with this little problem
Thank you

Christine, I’m so sorry you are going through this experience. We always and only recommend physiological dosing of hormones and we always start with progesterone. Since you have had a hysterectomy, you will also need estrogen, and down the road, maybe testosterone. But we always check hormone levels (not using blood serum) to determine exactly what hormones and what dosing your body needs. Pellets take at least 3 months to wear off, before getting levels checked. Why don’t you go to my website, click on “Begin Your Journey,” scroll down to the bottom where it says “type in your zip code here.” Up wil pop a list of drs who work with bhrt in your area. You will need to call those dr offices and ask if that dr works with compounding labs on personalized bhrt for his patients. When you find a dr, email me at lyn@ and I can direct your next step. When you find a dr, we can work with you over the phone to guide your next steps. Hope this info helps! Hang in there!

Thanks for offering that analysis. Part of my objection was on the use of “cooperation” as the term under discussion, since it quickly gets turned into, “women aren’t as cooperative as you think.” Indeed, the media coverage of this research article did just that. Part of my point was that the absence of senior women as co-authors with junior women could potentially be an extremely cooperative act; since the seniors don’t “need” the publications, they could generously be giving single authorship to the juniors. But, in fact, this whole study is pretty lame, focusing on very few articles and making very big generalizations.

Wow – thanks for the great info, JP! I’ve been growing my own herbs for the first time this summer with great success. The spearmint and sage seem to be doing the best, so I’ve been making large amounts of tea out of them. Been drinking quite a bit of both for about 6 weeks now. On a whim, I decided to google positive and negative aspects of ingesting these herbs and found that Sage contains large levels of thujone and should not be ingested in large quantities – yikes! And now I’ve learned from you that spearmint in large quantities may be shrinking my boys and lowering my libido – double yikes!! Who knew? What a shame, as I really enjoyed both as an ‘all day’ beverage. Oh well. Say, do you have any info on French Tarragon as a tea preparation? I really like having fresh herbal beverage to take the place of all the soda I was drinking.

Another point I’d like to make for people worried about a link between high testosterone and prostate cancer is that it just doesn’t make sense. Prostate cancer becomes more prevalent in men as they age, and that’s also when their testosterone levels decline. We almost never see it in men in their peak testosterone years, in their 20s for instance. We know from autopsy studies that 8% of men in their 20s already have tiny prostate cancers, so if testosterone really made prostate cancer grow so rapidly — we used to talk about it like it was pouring gasoline on a fire — we should see some appreciable rate of prostate cancer in men in their 20s. We don’t. So, I’m no longer worried that giving testosterone to men will make their hidden cancer grow, because I’m convinced that it doesn’t happen.
