“ I love using the H-EQ for both forensic subtractive EQ on an individual instrument, as well as over the mix buss to push the tonal qualities of a mix. Having the guide analysis showing the ‘before’ and ‘after’ is really useful. Recently I’ve been using it to accentuate the tonal quality on an orchestral track with lots of ribbon mics, including for the lead vocal. I was going for that old-fashioned, dark ribbon tone for the overall mix, and I used the H-EQ over the mix buss to emphasize this while controlling the output level. ”
Realtime analyzers were designed to work with equalizers, or was it the other way around? In any event, there are now more ways to analyze a room than just with the realtime approach. If you are only concerned with the indications of a realtime analyzer, then it is not important to be able to dial in correction between the centers of the filters. However, if you can view anomalies in between, it should then be possible to adjust for these indications with the processing instrumentation. In light of this it is incumbent on the manufacturers of equalization products to allow this. Rane has done just that by designing interpolating constant-Q equalizers.
When first using a USB memory immediately following purchase or formatting with the MGP32X and MGP24X, and after pressing the record button, a message such as “Storage Full!” may appear on the screen (depending on the USB memory), after which it may be impossible to use the USB recorder function. This is due to an error relating to the information on the free space in the USB memory immediately following purchase or formatting. If the information on the free space in the USB memory is initialized, it might take too much time for the mixer to analyze the amount of free space.
This error can be avoided by copying a file into the USB memory, or performing some other file operation on it, thereby updating the free space information.
When using a USB memory with the MGP32X and MGP24X, it is recommended that you first conduct the operation described above.
(If the abovementioned condition occurs)
Remove the USB memory from the mixer and turn the power off and then on again.
When you use the USB memory again, carry out a file operation on a computer such as copying a file into the USB memory.
