Carol Cavanaugh —
Carol Cavanaugh has taught yoga since 1977. She was one of the first certified Iyengar Yoga teachers in the United States. She made five trips to India to study with . and Geeta Iyengar, between 1980 and 1995. For over ten years, she directed the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco, and wrote often for Yoga Journal, including the 1991 Asana column. Currently she seeks to synthesize physical practices and mindfulness, through the creative merging of yoga and meditation practices. She also works with individuals who have special needs including back problems such as scoliosis.
Carol has a . in Psychology from Stanford University. She has practiced vipassana meditation since 1999.
